Nadine Lustre's camp ready to counter legal actions vs. VIVA

Nadine Lustre’s camp, through her legal counsel lawyer Lorna Kapunan, said that they are ready for a court battle against VIVA Artists Agency.
The statement comes after VIVA insisted that the actress is still under their agency, and warned the actress of a possible breach of contract.
“We welcome any legal action by Viva so their unconscionable, oppressive and illegal contract with Nadine (and their other artists) can be litigated in the proper forum,” Kapunan said in a statement.

The actress’ camp revealed on Monday that she has already terminated her contract with VIVA.
She also cited Article 1920 of the Civil Code of the Philippines on the right of the principal to revoke the agency under a contract.
Kapunan said that Lustre will also be “self-managed” for an indefinite period of time.
VIVA on the other hand said that Lustre cannot unilaterally withdraw from her contract.
Kapunan said that VIVA has taken advantage of young artists in the industry.
“VIVA lawyers have not replied to our earlier letters but chose to wait in ambush to malign Nadine and harass third parties dealing with her in good faith. This is wrongful and malicious contract interference by VIVA actionable in law for damages,” Kapunan added.
