Michael Cinco leads top Pinoy designers at Golden Globe Awards

The who’s who in Hollywood are wearing the who’s who in Philippine fashion design.
That pretty sums up the night of Golden Globe Awards recently in Los Angeles.
Seen during one of the many after-parties of the awards night are four of the brightest minds in Philippine fashion design — Michael Cinco, Oliver Tolentino, Alan del Rosario and Kenneth Barlis.

The four fashion designers “were together in the same place in a rare happenstance,” Hollwood correspondent Ruben Nepales wrote in his column at the Philippine Daily Inquirer.

Dubai-based Cinco styled the orange tulle gown of Laverne Cox, the lead star of the award-winning television series Orange is the New Black.
Cox strutted her gown during the after party hosted by InStyle and Warner Bros. at the Beverly Hills Hotel
A funny video of the couture gown which Cox coined as “orange crush” shows how elaborate the Cinco gown was made that it even fit three women under the dress. Oh well, not just three women but three celebrities — Sarah Hyland, Jamie Chung and Ashley Madekwe. Of course, the antic wouldn’t be complete without the bellhop carrying the long train as Cox steps out of the elevator.


Nepales observed that Cinco himself has been getting attention during the week leading to the Golden Globes awards night.
“Everywhere we went during Golden Globes week, including at the preparties, people loved Michael’s signature look with the big dark sunglasses,” Nepales wrote.
