Yeng Constantino to Duterte on ABS-CBN franchise: ‘Kumakatok po kami sa puso niyo’

Kapamilya singer Yeng Constantino shared her thoughts on the renewal of franchise of ABS-CBN, her home network.

The network’s franchise will expire in March 2020 and lawmakers have yet to tackle the bill granting its renewal.

President Rodrigo Duterte has repeatedly said he will not allow the network’s renewal of their franchise.

“Pinag-uusapan namin siya ng mga kaibigan ko, anong mangyayari next year kung sakali ngang matuloy,” Constantino said in an interview with reporters.

She was then asked on what could be her message to the President.

“Saludo po kami sa nga ginagawa niyo, sa pagkalap niyo ng pondo o investments para sa bansa,” Constantino said.

She also said she was born at ABS-CBN, her home network since she was declared winner in the reality show Pinoy Dream Academy.

“I don’t know what’s right and what’s wrong for you sir, hindi ko alam ang puno’t dulo bakit umabot sa ganito,” she explained.

In the end, she hoped that Duterte will still change his mind and consider artists like her.

“Kumakatok po ako sa inyong puso, sana huwag niyong hayaang mawalan ng source of livelihood ang mga artists at iba pang nagtatrabaho sa network,” Constantino said.
