Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi took to Instagram her message after winning the crown on Sunday.
Tunzi shared her first official photo as Miss Universe and wrote a caption that she is grateful for the opportunity to be declared as Miss Universe.
“Tonight a door was opened and I could not be more grateful to have been the one to have walked through it,” Tunzi wrote.
She is now wearing the ‘Power of Unity’ crown.
“May every little girl who witnessed this moment forever believe in the power of her dreams and may they see their faces reflected in mine. I proudly state my name Zozibini Tunzi, Miss Universe 2019!” Tunzi added.
She is the third South African who won the Miss Universe crown after Demi-Leigh Nel Peters (2017) and Margaret Gardiner (1978).
Filipina beauty queen Catriona Gray turned over the crown to Tunzi at the 68th edition of the pageant held in Atlanta.
Philippine bet Gazini Ganados landed in the Top 20.
