Kapuso singer Mark Bautista drew the ire of some of the fans of gymnast and SEA Games gold medalist Carlos Yulo over sending him an instant message on Instagram.

“Okay I’m shocked. He messaged me and he followed me as well [glaring]!” Yulo tweeted

“Kiddie meal naman pala ang gusto ni sis Mark Bautista! Go for the gold mamang!” one netizen commented when Yulo shared a screenshot of Bautista’s message.

“Alam na alam namin yang ginagawa mo Mark Bautista,” another netizen said.

Yulo, however, clarified that what he meant was he was excited when Bautista followed and messaged him.

“It saddens me to see tweets about @iammarkbautista because of my tweet out of excitement. Kindness, message of encouragement and appreciation is not a sign of flirting. Let’s focus on #SeaGames2019 and Winning as One,” he wrote.

Some of Bautista’s fans defended the singer saying that there’s nothing wrong in messaging Yulo for his achievements.

Yulo won two golds and two silver in the 30th SEA Games for gymnastics.
