Kapamilya actor Richard Gutierrez admitted in his latest interview with TV host Boy Abunda that he came to a point where he wanted to just leave his showbiz career behind.
This happened a few years back, according to Gutierrez in an interview on ‘Tonight with Boy Abunda’.
He revealed that during his hiatus some years ago, he felt like showbiz was not for him, and thought that it would be better to put his career at the backseat and leave the country with his wife and children.
“I was about to, you know, live in a different country. Nag plano na ‘ko (I planned) to live in a different country, start a new life, just like my dad did that,” he said. “My dad walked away and started a different life and I asked myself, maybe I can do the same,” Gutierrez told Abunda.
When the actor was asked what stopped him from leaving, he said, “Yung destiny ko talaga is to be here, right now, and opportunities came. I grabbed it and then sunud-sunod na.”
It can be recalled that he and his fiancée Sarah Lahbati went through the tough times both in their personal lives and careers, but they managed to be together through thick and thin.
After years of hiatus, the actor made a comeback when he signed an exclusive contract with ABS CBN in May 2017.
With two kids, Gutierrez and Lahbati are set to tie the knot in March next year. It is a significant month for them as the actor proposed to Labahti in March 2017 in Switzerland.
