Gerald Anderson became the top trending search for Twitter Philippines after he was allegedly booed while his face was shown on live screen during the University Athletic Association of the Philippines basketball finals Wednesday.
Anderson was recently embroiled in a love triangle controversy between actresses Julia Barretto and Bea Alonzo.

The actor was among the crowd who watched the game 2 of the basketball finals between Ateneo de Manila University and the University of the Philippines.
However, a netizen commented that the crowd did not boo on the Kapamilya actor but instead booed when live screen showed a replay of a loose ball flagrant foul of Ateneo’s Isaac Go on UP’s Jan-jan Jaboneta during the second quarter.
For the record, Gerald Anderson was NOT BOOED. He entered the court when an Atenean player made a flagrant foul on Janjan Jaboneta. The crowd was reacting to the game, NOT to Gerald.
