Jane De Leon is gearing up for her role in the upcoming film, ‘Darna’.
She also thanked those who wish her luck as she takes on the role of the Pinay heroine in the big screen.
Jane was the third choice for the role after both Angel Locsin and Liza Soberano quit from doing the film project.
“Una talaga like siyempre coming from Ate Angel, Ate Sharon and others, masaya and masaya ako na ‘yung tiwala rin na binigay nila sa akin para gampanan ko ang role,” Jane said.
The actress has prepared for her role training for her action scenes. Jane also hopes that she will be able to talk to Angel for her advice.
“Actually nag-uusap kami lagi ni Liza, nakapag-dinner na rin kami and ngayon looking forward naman ako kay Ate Angel Locsin na ma-meet siya,” Jane said.
She also talked about the pressure of doing the role because the film project has been through a number of changes and has been delayed for a number of years.
“Pero normal naman na ma-pressure talaga, kasi kahit sino naman ang nandito sa posisyon ko po,” Jane added.
Jane, however, clarified that more than being pressured, she is excited to do the project.
“Sobrang ready na talaga ako. Hindi ko naman ine-expect ‘to and binigay sa akin ni Lord ‘to and opportunity ‘to, so bakit hindi ko tatanggapin. Kinakabahan ako but it’s normal naman and ayun, gusto ko lang mapasaya ang mga tao,” Jane explained.
Jane was announced as the replacement of Liza Soberano last June after the original choice to play the role backed out due to finger injury.
Liza was the original choice to play Darna after Angel refused to do the role because of health reasons.
