‘Papa’s girl’ Sarah Geronimo turns emotional thanking dad for sacrifices

Despite her success and continued popularity, Pop Royalty Sarah Geronimo still finds time to thank her parents for their sacrifices in helping her get to where she is today.

In an episode of ABS-CBN’s Magandang Buhay, Sarah shared a heartfelt message to her father, Delfin Geronimo.

“Kahit sino, kahit ano ang dumating sa buhay ko hindi magbabago ‘yung pagmamahal at pagrespeto ko sa mga magulang ko at sa mga kapatid ko, dahil pamilya ko sila. Number 1 ang family,” Sarah said.

She also couldn’t help but cry when she was asked about her message of gratitude to her parents.

For his part, Delfin said they could not thank Sarah enough for working hard and uplifting their family’s lives.

“Sobra-sobrang pasalamat ako dahil nabigyan niya kami ng magandang buhay. Siyempre magiging maganda ang buhay natin kapag nagtulung-tulong talaga ang pamilya. Siyempre, sobrang salamat ako sa pagtitiyaga niya at pagsunod niya sa amin. At hanggang ngayon suportado niya pa rin kami. Si Sarah nandito pa rin. Talagang sobra niya kaming mahal, mga kapatid niya at kaming mga magulang niya,” Delfin said.

Sarah started her singing career when she won the singing competition “Star for a Night,” when she was 14.

Sarah’s father was a former employee of PLDT while her mother Divine used to run a small beauty salon.

Sarah started singing at the age of two, according to her parents. Her humble beginnings inspired young singers to follow her footsteps.

She is also a bankable film and TV actress. She is now promoting her latest film, “Unforgettable.” (TN)
