Julia Barretto apologizes to late grandfather for turning his wake to ‘family circus’

Julia Barretto penned an apologetic caption to her late grandfather Miguel Barretto as he was being laid into rest late last week.

“I’m sorry for how the celebration of your life turned into a circus. That instead of your legacy being remembered and given the attention, it created noise and more damage,” Julia wrote.

On Wednesday, reports about confrontations took place during the wake of Miguel after Gretchen Barretto showed up on her father’s wake.

Gretchen’s presence however did not sit well with Julia’s mother, Marjorie and initiated a commotion in the funeral site.

The Barretto family also did not mince words against each other and has refused to settle down even if President Rodrigo Duterte was there to pay his respects to the Barretto patriarch.

Both camps of Gretchen and Marjorie said that they are ready to tell the truth.

“This is not how it was supposed to be. I’m sorry that you watched all of this happen,” Julia added.

Gretchen has accused Marjorie of having a nervous breakdown. She was also allegedly attacked by her nieces Nicole and Julia.

“On top of that, on top of my pain and a broken heart I am being attacked. Pikey, despite all these false accusations targeted at me, despite all the lies being spread about my family and me, I will remain still and keep my peace. I will exclude myself from a battle that is not mine, but I will still stand by my mom and will be there for her no matter what happens,” Julia added referring to the controversy that tagged her as the third party on the Bea Alonzo-Gerald Anderson breakup.

For now, Julia said that she is grateful for receiving work and will now shift her focus on doing her job.

“The rest of my family and I will continue to be attacked and painted as bad people, but you and God know we were there during the good and most difficult times leading up to your passing. Your legacy will live on. I will keep my peace, focus on you, my faith, and the work that I have been receiving,” Julia added.
