Former ‘That’s Entertainment’ star Charo Laude is gearing up for the Mrs. Universe 2019 competition.

The 40-year-old beauty queen said she did not expect that an opportunity like this will come her way.

“Tama ‘yung sinasabi na ‘Don’t stop reaching for the stars’, ‘yung pangarap mo, ‘pag ibibigay ni God, talagang ibibigay Niya kahit ano pa ang age mo. Kahit kailan pa ‘yan, basta maniwala ka lang sa Kanya,” Laude said in an interview.

Laude said that she did not expect to become a beauty queen at 40.

“And I’m so happy. Imagine at my 40s doon pa pala ako magiging beauty queen,” she said.

For now, Laude is busy finding her attires and what to wear in the competition in December in China.

“Pinag-uusapan pa namin maigi ng designer ko kasi talagang dapat maganda ang preparations namin for that,” she added.

Laude said she wants Sinulog Festival to be her inspiration for some of her outfits.

“It’s colorful and the Philippines is colorful lalo na kapag dinala mo ‘yun sa ibang bansa. Kailangan makita nila na may X-factor ka pagdating sa national costume pa lang,” she added.

Laude was a Binibining Pilipinas candidate in 1998. (TN)
