Two OPM icons reunited in the concert stage as Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez joined forces with Megastar Sharon Cuneta on their ‘Iconic’ concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Velasquez paid tribute to Cuneta and shared how her music and movies inspired her showbiz career.
Cuneta on the other hand turned emotional and cried a number of times as she remembers some of her career milestones and even repeatedly said that ‘ganito talaga pag magpapahinga na’.
Cuneta has previously said that she wants to have her ‘semi-retirement’ from showbiz after being in the industry for more than 40 years.
“I’ve been working for 41 years, I’ve been working since I was 12. I am tired,” Cuneta said in a press conference ahead of their ‘Iconic’ concert.
The Megastar adds that a lot of things have changed in the showbiz scene and it’s somehow tiring to cope with these changes.
“Iba na ang meaning ng loyalty, iba na ang meaning ng friendship, iba na ang meaning ng maraming bagay. Ang dami-dami nang nagbago sa kinalakihan ko na pag may premiere parang Pasko, nafi-feel mo sa air,” she said.
