Kapuso star Yasmien Kurdi buys prisoners’ artworks to fund bail

Kapuso star Yasmien Kurdi wanted to help some people behind bars and has found a way to do so: buy their artworks.

The actress said that while she was taping for her new series, “Beautiful Justice,” in Tagaytay, she saw some of the inmates’ artworks displayed in a corner.

“ATM Habang nagte-taping ako ngayon for #BeautifulJustice dito sa BJMP Tagaytay, napansin ko na ang daming artworks at paintings na naka-paligid sa amin,” Yasmien wrote.

The actress found out that once you buy the art piece you will get the chance to help fund the bail needed by some prisoners.

“Yun pala, kapag naka-bili ka daw ng isang art piece na gawa ng mga preso, may pang piyansa na (ang preso),” she said.

The Kapuso star said she was so happy to find out that after buying their artworks, she was able to help someone get temporary freedom.

” Ang saya at nakaka-iyak yung feeling ko ngayon,” Yasmie said.

The actress then thanked Tagaytay City’s jail warden for accommodating them and to a man named Kuya Jason who also did some of the inmates’ artworks for bail money.
