It has always been a consistent story that the late father of Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez used to dunk her in a drum full of water.
Rumor has it that Mang Gerry trained her this way to hone her power belting skills.
But the Songbird has put this ‘urban legend’ to rest.
In a recent interview with Pep.ph, she squashed this myth saying: “You know that story na nilulublob ako ng tatay ko? Sa dagat! Hindi naman sa drum kasi.”
Megastar Sharon Cunets joined the conversation and said that some men even portrayed Velasquez’s training in a water drum.
“Hindi, kasi ang dami kong nakikilala na in-ano daw sila, trinain ng tatay nila pero sa drum. Nakakatawa naman yung sa drum,” Velasquez explained.
“Nilunod!” Cuneta commented. As for the megastar she said there are no myths about her that needs to be debunked.
