Friends, fans mourn the death of cyber-bullied K-pop star ‘Sulli’

After speaking up against the dangers of cyberbullying, Korean pop star and former f(x) member Sulli or Choi Jin-ri was found dead, Monday.

Sulli’s body was found at her home in the southern part of Seoul, South Korea.

The K-pop star was allegedly battling severe depression. Last year, Sulli spoke about her mental health struggles and she has suffered from panic disorder and social phobia.

“Her manager visited her home after failing to reach her since their last call the night before,” police said in a statement.

Former f(x) member Ambee Liu has cancelled her upcoming events in remembrance of her former colleague.

“Due to recent events I’ll be putting on hold my upcoming activities. Sorry everyone.Thank you for your thoughts,” Amber said in a tweet.

Another K-pop star Goo Hara also paid tribute to Sulli.

“In that world, I hope Jin Ri does what she wants to do,” she said.

U-Kiss member acknowledges the hardships Sull had been through.

“You went through so much… I hope you will not be concerned about anything there and I hope you will be really happy, noona. Rest in peace now.”

Sulli left a 15 year career in the K-pop and drama industry.
