Miss Universe 2011 Shamcey Supsup has revealed her tips to fellow Binibining Pilipinas beauty and Miss Universe Philippines 2019 Gazini Ganados.
“Ang lagi ko namang advice, you know, there’s always gonna be pressure, and I think you use that to your advantage. Because at least, dahil may pressure, ibig sabihin, maraming rooting for you,” Shamcey told Pep.ph.
The former Miss Universe candidate also told Gazini to get used to the feeling of being ‘pressured’ to do good so that she’ll give it her all when the pageant time comes.
“Mas mahirap yung walang pakialam yung mga tao, di ba? Yung wala silang pakialam kung manalo ka o hindi. So, ibig sabihin, since yung attention nila is nasa ‘yo, meaning, they really care about your performance there and you can take it as an advantage,” Shamcey added.
She adds that Filipinos will love Gazini no matter what, and the country will always be proud of her.
“Na parang to make you work harder and just do your best, hindi naman ikaw yung judge, so it’s not really in your hands! But, just do what you can and make the Philippines proud and, no matter what, you’re already a queen,” Shamcey explained.
Shamcey also told Pep.ph that she would prefer for the pageant to be held in another country.
“But ako, ang mas gusto ko, sa ibang bansa, not because ayoko na magkaroon ng you know, parang sasabihin if it’s in the Philippines, mas mahirap manalo,” Shamcey said.
