Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez has revealed that she once experienced discrimination when she was shopping at a luxury store in New York.

“The story was I went to New York to find this particular shoes. I went to Louis Vuitton, yun yung may pinakamalaking Louis Vuitton,” Regine shared on her Youtube channel.

Regine said that she couldn’t contain her excitement upon arriving at the store.

“I couldn’t wait to go to New York to get this shoes,” she recalled.

And when she was about to ask for her size, the attendant immediately told her that nothing will fit her.

“Sa umpisa pa lang, sinabi agad sa akin, wala akong size. Hindi ako pinagbilhan. Sabi ko, ‘Can I at least try them on?’ Sabi ng guy, ‘No!’ Sabi talaga ganoon. Na-discriminate agad ang lola niyo so na-depress ako nang very, very light,” she said.

Regine decided to go to another signature shoe store across.

“I went to Neiman Marcus. Katapat lang ni Louis Vuitton si Neiman Marcus. Si Neiman Marcus, maraming branded shoes. Nagwala ako doon, ang ending ko, ang iniuwi ko ay twenty pairs of shoes kasi na-depress ako!” she said.

Bringing all the shoes that she purchased, she went back to the Louis Vuitton store and she was able to buy the shoes that she really like.
