After being dubbed as the highest grossing Filipino film of all time, Star Cinema’s ‘Hello, Love, Goodbye’ continues to draw reactions and fans including Foreign Affairs Secretary Teddy Boy Locsin Jr.
Locsin is known for being active on Twitter when it comes to issues involving foreign policy, but the foreign affairs secretary did not miss the chance to see the much talked about Filipino film.
“Watched Hello, Love, Goodbye. Thank God for a handkerchief. Not saccharine sentimental. Right from the first line, this is the finest script I’ve ever read—matching situation, characters, moments in flawless synchrony,” Locsin said in a series of tweets.
Locsin also noted the long confession scenes which he said was difficult to pull off. He praised Alden Richards acting and how he was able to keep the audience’s attention.
“When it’s Kathyrn’s turn, in a different way, she pulls it off just as finely. Indeed the movie starts off as a contest between the astonishingly moving performance of Kathryn Bernardo as she kick-starts the movie already believably in character and keeps a grip on it,” Locsin said in another tweet.
Minutes into the film, Locsin said that he expecting something off to happen but that did not come true.
“Unfolding of the characters the two portray. Tears gather at the corners of one’s eyes. This is the Filipino abroad; specifically Hong Kong, city of childhood and entire life’s affection. The movie gets it right: this is what life is for Filipinos since Independence to now,” he said.
“And tomorrows without end. Forget the official bullshit. This is the most beautiful love story I’ve ever seen on screen, and yet more: it is life story, the story of many lives,” he added.
‘Hello, Love, Goodbye’ has earned more than Php800 million worldwide.
