Kris Aquino’s MMFF entry cancelled

Kris Aquino has confirmed that her film entry, K(ampon) at this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) will no longer push through.

The “Queen of All Media” announced this on Friday on her social media accounts.

Aquino said the MMFF organizing committee did not allow them to change the lead actors for its main characters as part of the MMFF rules.

“Pinalaki po ako to abide by the rules. So unfortunately, my return to horror was not meant to be for MMFF 2019,” Aquino said.

Aquino said the MMFF executive committee did not grant their request to change the leading man for the movie after Derek Ramsey backed out from the project. Gabby Concepcion was supposed to take over the role.

The intention to change its lead actor was submitted five days after the deadline for such changes to be permitted.

I have read the suggestions na mag-appeal. Pinalaki po akong may delicadeza. Two members of the executive committee are friends. One is one of my closest friends, kaya hindi ko magawa,” Aquino added.

Aquino said that she’s getting frustrated because apart from not making a comeback, Aquino said they have to pay millions for the MMFF bond, production staff and crew.

“Thank God I have these two, because of them I still look forward to better days ahead,” Aquino said while sharing a photo of herself and two sons, Bimby and Josh.
