Moira Dela Torre suffers from nasal necrosis, explains Idol PH judge performance

Singer Moira Dela Torre has opened up about her medical condition that affected her performance in the first edition of Idol Philippines.

Dela Torre said she suffered from a health condition that almost risked her eyesight, made prone to aneurysm or even stroke.

“Well basically, may nagkamali. And my nose went on necrosis and it’s a very simple procedure. It’s non-invasive but it went wrong and hindi po siya naagapan agad because we had no idea what was happening,” Dela Torre said during a press conference for her “Braver” concert.

The singer said she had to recover for three months due to a nasal infection that posed serious threats to her life.

“So, I was at a high risk of being blind, of aneurysm, heart attack and a stroke. And for almost three months, I was at home recovering because I was under house arrest. But I’m better now,” she said.

The Kapamilya singer also said she is now almost healed and getting better day after day.

“God is good. I’m healed, I’m 85 percent healed and I feel like I’m a hundred percent healed internally. I feel like this whole season really made me so much braver,” Dela Torre said.

The singer will not file any charges against the doctor who caused her nasal necrosis. She also admitted that her nasal condition really played a big factor for her low energy performance in the recently concluded singing contest Idol Philippines.

“It was really a tough season kasi ang dami kong nawalang trabaho, feeling ko dahil nasa gitna ng mukha ko ‘yun. Tapos ang dami pang sakit na sobrang high-risk ako. It wasn’t just my career that I was going to lose. It was my life,” she said.

Former Idol PH judge and TV host Vice Ganda also defended Dela Torre from bashers.

“Ganun kataas ‘yung level ng pain na nararamdaman ni Moira habang nagte-taping kami na kusang tumutulo ang luha niya at kailangan siyang painumin ng maraming gamot para ma relieve ‘yung pain at kumalma siya. Kaya ganon ang energy niya. Pero pinagtatawanan at binash niyo siya ng hindi niyo alam na may nangyayaring hindi maganda sa kalusugan ni Moira. How dare you,” Vice said on Gandang Gabi Vice Sunday.
