Egg freezing for fertility preservation has become popular among women who are at the peak of their careers.
Another addition is Kapamilya Star Patroller Gretchen Fullido.
Fullido shared on her Instagram account the news about her decision to freeze her eggs at 35 years old.
In her post on Monday, she said she had done so with the help of Victory Art Laboratory in Makati with Doctors Gia & Greg Pastorfide.
“Been praying about this for a few years now and my dream finally came true!!! ? It’s the best birthday gift I can ever give to myself!!! I just turned 35 years old last June 4 ? Now I can take control of my life, not rush on anything and have a baby in my own time, in God’s perfect time ,” Fullido wrote on her caption.
She also shared that she met other women who shared their stories to her.
As to how did she do it or why? Fullido, in a video interview published on the laboratory’s Facebook page, said she still has future plans and that she wanted to have control as to when she would like to have kids.
According to Dr. Gia, the cost for egg freezing now is at P300,000 for women who are in their late 20s or 30s.
The price, however, goes higher for older women because of the many medications that she has to take.
The doctor added that the best age for egg freezing is when you are on your late 20s or 30s.
The facility charges its patient P10,000 a year for the storage of their eggs.
Other known women who did the same procedure are Korean TV host Sam Oh, comedienne Aiai delas Alas, fashion designer Mich Dulce, Dra. Vicki Belo’s daughter Cristalle, and Divine Lee.
