Kapamilya teen star Maymay Entrata revealed that Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) have a special place to her heart.
Maymay’s mother is an OFW in Japan for 28 years.
Now that the actress was given the opportunity to play an OFW in the Cathy Garcia-Molina film ‘Hello, Love, Goodbye’ she hopes that she gave justice to her role.
“Being an OFW is not easy. You’re far from your family. You’re sacrificing your own happiness so you can provide for your loved ones here in the Philippines. There’s also the feeling of loneliness because you have no one there with you,” Maymay told Inquirer.net.
The actress also said that like OFWs she also knows how it feels to be far from one’s own family.
Maymay potrayed the role of ‘Mary Dale’, a new made in Hong Kong, in the blockbuster film. Her character experiences the social cost of the OFW life.
The actress said that she is happy that she can now repay her mother’s sacrifice for their family.
“Nasusuklian ko ang sakripisyo na ’yon. I’m so proud of her and all the other OFWs out there”, Maymay added.
