‘Wag ka na lang kumanta’ basher tells Regine Velasquez

Asia’s Songbird, Regine Velasquez remains unfazed by negative comments on her latest performance in San Francisco for the Sunday musical variety show ASAP.

Velasquez also shared a screenshot of a netizen who told her that her finale performance with the divas was not promising. The netizen even said that the Songbird did not hit the right notes.

“FOR THOUSANDS OF FILIPINOS WHO PAID THEIR TICKETS COMING FROM THEIR HARD EARNED MONEY YOU GAVE THEM THAT PERFORMANCE. NAKAKAHIYA KA! FINALE KA PA? DI MO NAMAN MAABOT!!! Pweeh!!! Wag ka na lang kumanta!!!” a netizen commented.

Velasquez shared the post and explained what many artists go through in every performance.

“I guess kasalanan ko rin naman kasi kahit madaling kanta pinapahirap ko, so pag hindi ko binirit disappointed na ang ibang mas mataas pa sa boses ko ang expectations,” she said.

Velasquez added that performances differ based on the singer’s condition.

“Alam mo iba-iba ang bawat pagkanta. Minsan depende sa kundisyon ng katawan at boses ng isang mang-aawit ang kalalabasan ng kanyang performance,” she explained.

Velasquez then said that she understands Filipinos should feel that watching them perform will always be worth it.

“Pero tama ka NO excuses pinaghirapan nyo ang perang ipinambayad nyo para manood. So you guys deserve only the best. At alam naming lahat yan kaya naman kahit may sakit walang boses, naki-pag break sa jowa, namatayan ng pet at kung anu-ano paman, we always give it our best 101 percent,” she said.

The Songbird said more often than not, performers already habe a gut-feeling that audience could be disappointed.

“And the emotional battle we all have inside….. why didn’t I do this? Sana ginalingan ko pa. Sana nag-practice pa ko. But again, no excuses. We all do what we do because we all love to entertain all of you,” Velasquez said.

She then thanked the basher for letting her know that she was bad so that she can improve.

“But thank you for letting me know that I was so bad I will do my best next time,” the music legend said.
