A Queen no more: Miss Michigan 2019 stripped of her title – here’s why.

Miss Michigan 2019, Kathy Zhu was stripped of her title after allegations of her comments about Muslim women and black people.

The executives with Miss World America informed Zhu that her posts on social media were “offensive, insensitive and inappropriate” and that it violates the organization’s rules and conditions.

It was Zhu who even posted the screenshot of the email. The email reads: “Therefore, and effective immediately, MWA does not recognize you as a participant of any sort or in any capacity as it relates to any and all events of MWA,” the email read.

The said tweets of Zhu was posted a year ago and both were deleted on Twitter.

The first tweet goes: “Did you know that the majority of black deaths are caused by other blacks? Fix problems within your own community first before blaming others.”

“There is a ‘try a hijab on’ booth at my college campus. So you’re telling me that it’s now just a fashion accessory and not a religious thing? Or are you just trying to get women used to being oppressed under Islam?” Another tweet from Zhu.

After the said decision of Miss World executives, Zhu expressed great dismay and said it was a discrimination on her part as she was only tweeting about statistics and facts.

The Michigan beauty queen is a Donald Trump supporter and also the vice chair of the University of Michigan’s College Republican group.

On her recent twitter video post she expressed: “This is about an organization discriminating against people with different opinions, calling people racist even when they’re not,”

“Just little attacks like those just really diminish the value and the truth of the word racism.” Zhu added.
