President Rodrigo Duterte toom time off to attend the premier of a movie of a fictional government’s anti-illegal drug campaign on Monday, GMA News reported.
The premier for “KontrAdiksyon”, which was directed by award-winning writer and musician Njel de Mesa, was held at SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City.
De Mesa is a supporter of President Duterte.
The President delivered a speech, saying that the proliferation of illegal drugs created dysfunctional families and corrupted police officials as he criticized bishops and priests.
He said that he would take full responsibility for the government’s war against drugs.
The movie is about a human rights activist who was framed and jailed for the killing of his entire family.
The movie stars Jake Cuenca, Kris Bernal, Katrina Halili veteran actresses Elizabeth Oropesa and Odette Khan.
