Rihanna named world’s richest female musician

Rihanna clinched the title of being the world’s wealthiest female musician, surpassing Madonna, Beyonce and Celine Dion.

The Umbrella singer is worth $600 million according to Forbes, Madona is worth $30 million while Dion is $150 million and Beyonce with $200 million, according to Forbes.

Although the “Diamonds”star is known for a number of hits, Rihanna sourced her wealth through product partnerships.

Majority of Rihanna’s income comes from LVMH, the French luxury goods company that owns the likes of Christian Dior, Givenchy and Louis Vuitton.

Rihanna is the first black woman to create her brand with LVMH. She launched Fenty in a boutique store in Paris.

Forbes estimates that the singer is getting 15% of revenue from her partnership with LVMH.

In an interview last month with New York Style Magazine, the singer recalled her humble beginnings in the Caribbean Island.

“You know, when I was younger, I couldn’t afford everything, but a pair of Timberlands: That was my Dior. And I had to save my money for a whole school year to get those Timberlands that I wanted, and I did it.” Rihanna said.

The singer has yet to release a statement on her newest title.

“I never thought I’d make this much money, so a number is not going to stop me from working. I’m not being driven by money right now. Money is happening along the way, but I’m working out of what I love to do, what I’m passionate about. Work will change when my life changes in the future but an amount of money is not going to stop that.” Rihanna told the magazine.
