WATCH: Diether Ocampo finishes seafarer’s training

Manila: Actor and athlete Diether Ocampo adds another feather on his cap after finishing his maritime training under the Philippine Center for Advanced Maritime Simulation and Training Inc. this month.

In a video series entitled ‘Sea of Stories’ posted in Philcamsat Facebook page, Ocampo narrated his training experience as seafarer.

“Paano nga ba maging isang marino, mahirap ba o madali,” Ocampo asked in the beginning of the video.

The actor then recalled how ‘marinos’ or seafarers sacrificed a lot for their families and the country.

In the ten-minute video, Ocampo was seen doing fire safety training and underwater training. He also talked to seafarers and a ship captain to understand the plight of Filipino seafarers.

Philcamsat is a training center for maritime professionals in order to enhance their potentials and make them at par with global or international standards.

Ocampo is also a Lieutenant Commander of the Philippine Coast Guard.
