Filipino singer booted out of “The Voice US”

Filipino singer Jej Vinson bade farewell on the US singing competition “The Voice” after he failed to earn a spot at the show’s Top 8.

Vinson’s elimination came after he performed a rendition of Nick Jonas and Tove Lo’s song “Close.”

In the end, his “The Voice” journey came to a close with him in the Top 13.

Filipino fans were disappointed as Vinson has been one of the early favorites in the competition.

Nevertheless, Vinson said he is still thankful to his family, supporters, and his coach Kelly Clarkson for helping him throughout his time in the show.

“I’m feeling so grateful right now. Kelly Clarkson, you are the best coach that I’ve ever had, and I will take what I’ve learned from you with me forever. Thank you for believing in me. To all my fans, families, and friends, I love you guys so much. Thank you for supporting me tirelessly,” he said.

“I don’t want anyone to be sad because to be honest, I’m just happy that I’m able to sing in front of millions. I’m an artist. I have music coming. I will keep working my butt off. I hope you guys keep supporting me,” he added.

Vinson first captured the hearts of the judges and the viewers during the blind auditions when he performed an outstanding cover of Drake’s “Passionfruit”.

After his audition, coach Adam Levine even told him that he is a “better than all of us.”
