Ben Tulfo made remarks against Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez over a tweet made by the singer-actress for Foreign Affairs Secretary Teddy Locsin Jr. last week.
Tulfo, using Facebook live, berated Velasquez who he insinuated knows nothing other than singing.
This came after the singer wrote a reaction to Locsin’s statement about the alleged collection of endangered giant clams by Chinese vessels in Scarborough Shoal.
The DFA secretary’s tweet last April 16 read “I am not going down in history as a clam defender, okay? It’s a complaint; we’re looking into it; but these are just (expletives) food; no one goes to war for clams (maybe oysters of Locquemariaquer) but they just happen to be our food. They should pay for them like in the fish market.”
Velasquez reacted “Ang akala ko pa naman matalino ka. Ako ay [simpleng] tao lamang na may simpleng pagiisip. These people are invading our territory they are not just taking food [sinisira] nila ang ating karagatan!!!!”
Tulfo gave Velasquez his unsolicited advice that the singer should think before talking.
