Fans had high hopes that Kapamilya stars JM de Guzman and Barbie Imperial would end up as a couple after working together in the now-defunct afternoon series “Araw Gabi”.
However, de Guzman revealed in his recent interview on “Tonight With Boy Abunda” that a rift between them changed it all.
The actor clarified though that they had already buried the hatchet between them.
He said that he tried to pursue Imperial, but things didn’t work out between them.
“I told her baka puwede natin i-try na maging magkaibigan muna tapos tingnan natin kung puwede bang may mangyari,” he said.
De Guzman no longer emphasized the reason behind their rift but implied that the pressure of their work might have something to do with it.
“Pero medyo iyong pressure nu’ng trabaho —sa akin at sa kanya. Siya kaka-launch lang, ako kakabalik lang. Hindi nag-work,” he said.
He also revealed that they only dated for a month and nothing came after that.
The rumors about de Guzman and Imperial being romantically linked started when they became an on-screen loveteam for “Araw Gabi”.
