Former reporter Joseph Ubalde found lifeless inside his hotel room

Former broadcast journalist Joseph Holandes Ubalde, 33, passed away on Monday, April 1, after he was found lifeless inside the bathroom of his hotel room at the Shangri-La at the The Fort in Taguig City, 5:30 p.m.

His sister Shyrl Ann confirmed his death in a Facebook post.

The in-house physician of the hotel declared him dead, but the cause of his demise is still unknown.

Security personnel checked on him inside his room after they received an information that the former reporter of TV5 has not been answering calls.

On the same day, April 1, Ubalde posted on his Instagram page a photo of himself, with a caption “Freedom.”

Condolences to the bereaved family poured in on his last Instagram post.

Ubalde first worked with GMA News Online before he left for Germany for a media fellowship.

After some time, he came back to the Philippines and worked with TV5. And then in 2017, he worked as a social media consultant for the Presidential Communications Operations Office and the Department of Information and Communication and Technology.
