Actress Sunshine Dizon and her husband Timothy Tan faced accusations from their former maid who said that she was mistreated when she worked for them.
The maid who introduced herself as Angela Agullo appeared on the Raffy Tulfo’s radio show “Raffy Tulfo in Action” on March 18 wherein she said that she works as a nanny for the couple’s children.
Regarding her complaint, Agullo said that was fired her from her job and the couple did not allow her to retrieve her belongings from their house.
Agullo narrated that she took a day off on March 2 and was expected to return to her work on the night of March 3.
However, she had a fever that day and was not able to go to work.
Agullo admitted that she is at fault too because she did not inform her employers about her sickness and she also did not answer Tan’s calls.
The maid added that the phone was inside her bag and she was not able to check it for calls or messages because she was resting the entire day due to her fever.
But Tulfo only scolded Agullo saying that she should have at least informed her employer about her condition.
Shortly after, Tulfo called Tan to air his side of the story.
Tan said that Agullo did not report to work on the day she was supposed to but it is not true that they are barring her from getting her things from their house.
“Hindi ko hinold ang gamit niyan. Actually, the other day, yung barangay tumawag sa akin. Ang sabi ko, bayaran niya yung utang niya. Iturnover ko sa barangay lahat para may proper documentation also,” Tan said.
He added that it was Agullo who has not completely paid them her loan worth P12,000. Tan said that she still has an outstanding balance worth P3,300.
Tulfo then said that they should settle their financial woes with barangay authorities.
However, Agullo said that she has more complaints other than her unclaimed belongings.
She said that her employers also did not pay their share for her Social Security System (SSS) and PhilHealth.
Tan countered and said that they gave her the money to pay for her benefits.
“Last year, Sir, pinapaayos ko sa kanya ‘yan dahil gusto niya magkaroon siya ng SSS at PhilHealth, in which karapatan niya yun under the law.
“So ngayon, sabi ko, lakarin niya, kasi siya ang may alam kung saan niya gusto lakarin. Actually, nag-o-off ‘yan ilang araw. ‘Tapos pati participation, itinawag ko sa accountant ko kung paano ang sharing. Ibinigay ko sa kanya yung pera nun,” Tan told Tulfo.
Agullo said that it was true that they gave her money for the payment of her benefits at first but it wasn’t consistent.
Agullo also said that Dizon and Tan did not even help her financially when she had health problems.
She narrated that there was a time when she found a lump on her arm but her employers did nothing about it.
However, Tan strongly denied the allegation saying he even urged Agullo to go to a “good hospital” to get herself checked, but it was her who insisted that she will just go to the hospital near her house.
The doctors did not find any lump on her arm and said that it was only a “muscle spasm”.
“Sa akin, Sir, hindi ako madamot pagdating sa ganyang bagay lalo na’t alam natin na para sa kalusugan at tagapag-alaga ng mga anak ko iyan,” Tan said.
But Agullo sompained once again. “Nagka-UTI po ako sa bahay nila. Ako po’y umihi ng may patak ng dugo. Kahit tawagan niyo yung dati kong kasama… Sir, nagpaalam po ako sa inyo. Sabi ko, Sir, di na po ako makakasama dahil nilalagnat na ako.”
She then turned to Tulfo and said, “Ni piso, Idol, hindi niya ako binigyan. Kung wala pong isang libo yung kasama ko, hindi ako makakapagpagamot.”
Tan, however, responded by saying that their maid did not inform them about her health conditions and he would have given her money if she just informed them.
In the end, Tulfo told Tan to just pay for Agullo’s SSS and PhilHealth to solve the problem.
Tan agreed to Tulfo’s resolution.
On the other hand, Dizon also addressed the issue on social media after she got accused by several netizens of maltreating their maid.
