Avril Lavigne, who visited the UAE to perform in the Special Olympics, described on Twitter her recent trip to the UAE as a “magical and epic” experience.

But her visit seems to have been a delight for many as she has got the Internet talking, not only in the UAE but across the world, after posting her abaya-clad photos on social media.

In her photos, Lavinge can be seen wearing a black abaya at Emirates Palace.

She also seemed to have enjoyed with her friends their camel ride down a private beach in the Capital.

On her Twitter post, Lavinge thanked the UAE for the warm welcome and hospitality accorded to her.

“Moved by the beauty and grace of your culture. Being here for the @specialolympics and performing with @luisfonsi, @tamerhosny, @7sainaljassmi, and @assala_official has been such an amazing experience. Everyone has been so warm and my time here has been magical and epic. Thank you for having me UAE and for your hospitality @emiratespalace,” the singer’s tweet reads.

People of determination have a special place in her heart, as she herself had spent years battling against Lyme disease, which is transmitted to humans through the bite of infected blacklegged ticks.
