Yasmien Kurdi to serve OFWs after graduating from college

At the age of 30, Kapuso actress Yasmien Kurdi is proving that no one is too old to pursue her passion.

The actress will graduate from college this coming April. She is currently taking up Political Science from Arellano University.

In an interview with PEP.ph, Kurdi said that she tried to juggle her time as a student and as an actress at the same time. She revealed that she was attending class amid the shooting of her shows “Hindi Ko Kayang Iwan Ka” and “Cain at Abel”.

“During Hindi Ko Kayang Iwan Ka, nagka-klase ako.

“’Tapos, nung nag-Cain at Abel ako, tinodo ko po, kasi special participation lang ako dun,” she said.

She also said that she would like to help overseas Filipino workers (OFW) with the degree that she will earn.

“Parang sabi ko noon, baka puwede ko silang matulungan in the future in my own little way kung kaya ko, kung hindi na ako artista,” she said.

She said that she is also planning on taking her masteral to further serve OFWs.

“Ang naiisip ko po ngayon is something like baka mag-masteral po ako sa Consular Diplomacy or International Studies. Lalo na po marunong po akong mag-Arabic, so kaya ko silang [matulungan],” she said.

She is expected to graduate on April 6.
