A no-holds-barred question was asked by a studio audience member to Kapuso actor Alden Richards which caused many jaws to drop to the floor.
During the live show if GMA-7’s weekly variety show “Sunday Pinasaya” on March 10, Richards, together with co-host Ai Ai delas Alas, was roaming around the studio while talking to the live audience.
One girl then stepped out from the crowd and asked Richards a question that drew a lot of reactions from the viewers.
“Anong feeling na pinagpalit ka ni Maine,” the girl directly asked Alden referring to the news about his former on-screen partner Maine Mendoza having a developing romantic relationship with actor Arjo Atayde.
“Nakakahilo ‘yang tanong na ‘yan pero maganda ‘yang tanong na ‘yan pero hindi dapat sagutin ‘yang tanong na ‘yan,” delas Alas said.
Richards was obviously taken aback by the question but he maintained to laugh about it. He went on to say that the audience member gave an “invalid” question.

After the episode aired, the girl’s question earned mix reactions with some netizens saying that it was disrespectful of her to ask such, while there were some who said that they were entertained.
Atayde and Mendoza’s relationship flourished since they worked together for the 2018 Metro Manila Film Festival entry “Jack Em Popoy: The Puliscredibles”.
After the production of the said movie, they have been spotted by fans going on dates several times.
Speculation fueled when fans spotted them on their first international trip together back in November 2018. Several photos circulated online suggesting that they were in Indonesia at the same time.
After months of speculation, Atayde has finally spoken about the real score between him and Mendoza in January.
Atayde was straightforward when he said that he and Mendoza are now exclusively dating.
“We are exclusively dating, and I’m the happiest right now. Further details, I will not say anymore. Hanggang doon na lang po muna,” he said.
Atayde also said that he likes everything about Mendoza and she is the one making him happy right now.
“She makes me laugh all the time,” he said.
Since then, they have been spotted more often in events together, and even travelled internationally to Taiwan and the US.
For her part, Mendoza has also since confirmed their dating status through a lengthy blog post.
However, Atayde and Mendoza’s relationship did not please some netizens, especially those who are fans of the latter’s on-screen partnership with Alden Richards.
Atayde also said that he is ready to fight for Mendoza, as well as his family if bashers attack them online.
“For me, to insult me is fine. I’m a very passive person. But to insult my family and Maine… sabi ko nga sa social media, I let it go, wala akong kalaban diyan, e. Do it in front of me, I’m sure I’m gonna hit the hell out of you,” he previously said.
Nevertheless, there are still more fans who hope that their relationship will stay strong as the days go by.
