A Filipina dancer is among the 38 members of a youth dance group that earned a standing ovation on “Ireland’s Got Talent”.
Nicole Marie dela Cruz Fowler, 16, is a member of the group “HipHopical” which took the stage during the auditions by performing a routine influenced by hip-hop and musical theater.
Their unique take on the classic tale of “Wizard of Oz” earned a standing ovation from the show’s judges.
According to a report on ABS-CBN News, Fowler, who is in secondary school, said that dancing is a way for her to express herself.
Fowler started dancing at an early age and went on to study different styles of dacing including jazz, tap, musical theater, and hip-hop.
She is the daughter of Irish jeweler David Fowler and Maria dela Cruz, a nurse from Jolo, Sulu who moved to Ireland in the year 2000, the source added.
“HipHopical” is hoping to earn a spot in the competition’s semi-finals.
