Teddy Corpuz calls out JK Labajo for cursing fan

Rocksteddy frontman Teddy Corpuz has given his two cents regarding the controversy involving singer Juan Karlos Labajo who cursed and flashed a finger at a fan.

It can be recalled that Labajo was not pleased when one of the people in the crowd shouted “I love you, Darren” while he was introducing himself and his band before their performance during the Rakrakan 2019 which took place in Circuit Makati.

The words that were shouted by the woman irked Labajo which caused the latter to call her out onstage.

“Ako nga pala si JK, eto nga pala si [glaring word] mo,” he said while looking at and flashing his middle finger to the one who shouted Darren’s name.

“Tigilan mo na ‘yan. Ayaw ko nang marinig ‘yang pangalan na ‘yan. Nakaka-buwisit,” he continued.

He went on to say that he is happy playing for the crowd except for the one who kept on shouting Darren’s name.

After the incident, Corpuz, who has also performed at a lot of music festivals with his band, was asked about his opinions on how the young singer reacted.

Corpuz said that Labajo should not have acted the way he did and, instead, took the joke lightly.

“Kung sa akin gawin yun, tawanan ko na lang sabihin ko, ‘Uy, thank you, ano, gusto mo ba kakanta pa ako ng kanta niya?” PEP quoted Corpuz as saying.

“Sa akin kasi, hindi siya cool. Para sa akin, kailangan may respeto pa rin sa iyo ang mga tao, and you would not gain the respect of other people, especially your listeners, kung minumura mo sila o pinipeke mo lang sila,” he added.

Labajo has since spoken up about what happened and went on to defend himself.

He told his followers not to judge him for lashing out at the fan without knowing the full story.

He said that the real problem is that there are so many who are disrespectful and rude audience members during shows.
