Chokoleit rushed to hospital in Vigan, more than 1 hr away from Abra?

(UPDATED) The governor of Abra extended condolences to the family of the late comedian Chokoleit, who died after his performance in the province.

The governor also dispelled news and social media posts saying that the late comedian was rushed to a hospital in Vigan, which is more than 1.5 hours away from Abra.

He was taken to the Abra Provincial Hospital, where he succumbed to pulmonary edema and heart attack, his attending physician Dr. Rosauro Seares said, according to ABS CBN News.

One user commented: “May Chokoleit’s death be a way for the Abra government to finally put up a reliable hospital. Malayo ang Abra sa Vigan. That’s almost 1.5 hours.”

The local showbusiness world was shocked by the sudden death of comedian after his performance at an event in Abra on Saturday, March 9.

According to reports, the comedian had a hard time breathing after his performance.

In a statement, Star Magic said: “Details are still being gathered. Chokoleit was performing in an out of town show in Abra, and experienced difficulty in breathing after his performance.”

In a video uploaded by Abra Province Fb page, Comedian can be seen coughing and seemingly struggling to catch his breath.

Some netizens also uploaded a video of his last performance. They pointed out that his last words seem to be a premonition of his demise.

Carl Guevarra uploaded a video of the comedian’s last word with a caption: “Chokoleit’s last words are chilling. Still can’t believe how life just passes by. Hope this helps us appreciate life and our loved ones. RIP.”

One of his closest friends in the industry, Vice Ganda, paid tribute to the comedian on Twitter.

“Thank you Lord for giving me a chance to meet Chokoleit and become his friend. I’m sad that we lost him,” Vice Ganda said.

“But happy that he’ll be in a much peaceful and happier place now with you. Thanks for everything Chokie. I love you!”
