Ara Mina lets Deborah Sun stay at her house for free after latter hit rock bottom

As they say, life is a wheel. Sometimes you’re up, the next thing you know, you’re down.

The same thing goes with former actress Deborah Sun who, at one point in her life, was able to experience fame and fortune but is now just barely getting by and staying for free at Ara Mina’s house.

In an interview with PEP.ph, Deborah revealed that it has been nearly three years since Ara Mina decided to take her in and let her stay at her house for free.

Deborah said that she sought help from Ara Mina when she started having problems financially.

“Nakasama ko si Ara sa isang teleserye pero hindi ko siya nakabarkada,” Deborah was quoted as saying.

“Nagulat ako nang tawagan niya ako at mag-offer siya sa akin ng bahay. Sabi ko, ‘Anak, magkano?’

“Ang sabi niya, ‘No, Tita! Wala kang babayaran. Bayaran mo lang ang kuryente, tubig, association, ganun-ganun!'” she added.

Deborah also said that Ara Mina would continuously show her acts of kindness. There was one time when Ara Mina helped her see her son Jam Melendez.

“Minsan, binati niya ako, ‘Happy Mother’s Day, Tita!’ E, may anak akong nakakulong. Sabi niya, ‘Tita, dalaw ka sa anak mo!’ Sabi ko, ‘Ayoko.’

“Tanong niya, ‘Bakit?’ Sabi ko, ‘Kasi, wala akong dala.’

“‘Ano bang gusto ng anak mo?’ ‘Spring chicken sa Max’s saka kare-kare.’

“Sabi niya, ‘Sige, Tita, dumalaw ka.’ Nagpadala siya. Binigyan ako ng PHP1,500,” she narrated.

“Nung kelan lang, nangumusta siya. Sabi ko, ‘Eto, masama ang pakiramdam!’ Ayun, binigyan niya ako ng pandoktor! Hindi mo kailangang humingi sa kanya. Kusa siyang nagbibigay!” Deborah continued.

Deborah, who gained fame as a character actress, confessed in the now-defunct entertainment talk show “Startalk” in 2015 that she is struggling with her finances.

But aside from her economic status, Sun also opened up in the same interview the problems she had with her son who allegedly had drug problems.

Deborah, born as Jean Louise Porcuna Salvador, was an actress known for roles in movies Pasan Ko Ang Daigdig (1987), Temptation Island (1980) and Pakawalan Mo Ako (1981).
