Cosmetics mogul and reality television star Kylie Jenner is now officially a billionaire, according to Forbes.
On Tuesday, Forbes released its annual list of the world’s richest people wherein they named Jenner the youngest self-made billionaire ever.
At just 21 years old, Jenner took the title from Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg who achieved the same feat when he was 23 years old.
Forbes said that Jenner’s net worth is $1 billion thanks to her makeup company Kylie Cosmetics. The said source stated that Kylie Cosmetics is worth $900 million and Jenner owns 100% of it.
However, not all were pleased with Jenner claiming the title since the word “self-made” refers to someone who succeeded in life unaided.
People are saying that Jenner cannot be considered as a “self-made” billionaire since she was born into a wealthy family, the famous Kardashian-Jenner clan.
However, Forbes explained that it defines “self-made” as “someone who built a company or established a fortune on her own, rather than inheriting some or all of it.”
Nevertheless, Jenner feels grateful for the recognition as she posted a photo on her Instagram thanking the publication for the title.
Other new billionaires included in Forbes’ list include Spotify co-founders Daniel Ek and Martin Lorentzon, who are worth $2.3 billion and $3.1 billion, respectively.
