10-year-old Filipino singer earns Golden Buzzer in “Asia’s Got Talent”

At the young age of 10, Eleana Gabunada earned one of the Golden Buzzers after showing her singing prowess during her audition for the third season of “Asia’s Got Talent”.

Gabunada got the approval of the judges for her mesmerizing rendition of Barbra Streisand’s classic song “Rain on my Parade” from the movie “Funny Girl”.

At the end of the performance, music icon and one of the judges David Foster said: “There’s a lot of people much older than you that could sing that song, but they don’t understand the genre. But somehow at age 10, you understand your mission, and you understand your job and there’s no doubt in my mind that if you want to be on Broadway one day, you will.”

Meanwhile, Anggun also complimented Gabunada for singing one of the hardest Broadway songs and dubbed her as “baby Streisand”.

“I think you’re the only act that made David stand up,” judge Jay Park said.

Foster then pressed the Golden Buzzer for the young singer which will automatically make her qualified to move onto the semi-finals.

Gabunada is the second Filipino act to earn a Golden Buzzer on the said competition following Shadow Ace.

The winner of “Asia’s Got Talent” will win $100,000 or around P5 million.

Before joining “Asia’s Got Talent”, Gabunada joined “The Voice Kids” and ended up on Lea Salonga’s team.
