Hollywood actor Darren Criss wears barong by Francis Libiran on his wedding day

Hollywood actor Darren Criss has been very vocal about his Filipino roots and how much he’s proud of it.

To show his love for the Philippines even more, Criss decided to wear a barong Tagalog on his wedding day.

During the wedding ceremony, the actor married his long-time girlfriend Mia Swier while wearing an off-white custom Giorgio Armani shawl-collar tuxedo trimmed with silk grosgrain.

On the reception and when the party started, Criss changed his outfit to a Francis Libiran barong tagalog which features intricate designs.

“My business partner Arsi Baltazar was contacted by Ashley Weston, the stylist of Darren Criss asking if we can create a modern design of the Barong Tagalog for Darren’s wedding,” Libiran told Preview explaining how he came to create Criss’ wedding outfit.

“We were ecstatic upon hearing this considering that we had just met him and partied with him at the Golden Globe Awards last January in Hollywood,” he added.

The Filipino fashion designer added that Criss wanted his barong to have some details which are inspired by the Pintados tattoos.

In one of the photos shared by Libiran, Criss was even seen dancing with his Filipino mom.

Criss gained international fame after portraying Blaine Anderson on “Glee”. He also earned critical acclaim for his television role as Andrew Cunanan, the serial killer who murdered designer Gianni Versace.
