Kristofer King passes away, family appeals to Coco Martin for financial help

Independent film actor Kristofer King, whose real name is Christopher Reyes, has passed away on February 23.

King was rushed to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Adventist Medical Center Manila after his heart stopped beating, reported PEP.ph.

The cause and time of his death is still unclear but the source stated that the actor has been suffering from diabetes, as well as other diseases such as pneumonia, heartburn, at sciatica.

After his death, award-winning director Brillante Mendoza remembered the actor by posting one of his photos with the caption: “You will always be my best actor. I will miss u King.”

The family of the departed actor also asked for financial help from Kapamilya actor Coco Martin.

Martin and King have worked together in several indie films. King was also given a role in Martin’s long-running primetime show “Ang Probinsyano”.

King has appeared on several films including Masahista (2005), Slingshot (2007), Serbis (2008), Captive (2012), Alpha: The Right To Kill (2018), Imoral (2008), and Ante (2009).

He also appeared on some television shows including GMA-7’s Stepdaughters and Inday Will Always Love You.

Throughout his career, King was recognized with several awards, including Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival Best Actor Award in 2012, Metro Manila Film Festival New Wave Best Actor Award in 2014, and Sinag Maynila Best Actor Award in 2017.
