Ice Seguerra, Liza Dino give hints about male donor for IVF process

Celebrity couple Ice Seguerra and Liza Diño are taking the first steps to having their own family by undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF) in order for them to have a child.

According to Mayo Clinic’s website, IVF is a complex series of procedures wherein “mature eggs are collected (retrieved) from a woman’s ovaries and fertilized by sperm in a lab. Then the fertilized egg (embryo) or eggs are implanted in your uterus.” The said procedure is used to “treat fertility or genetic problems and assist with the conception of a child”.

In their case, they would conceive a baby using Seguerra’s egg cell and a sperm of a donor, which will then be carried by Diño.

Diño also said in jest that they chose their sperm donor, who stands at 6 feet in height, because they want their child to be tall and they would not be able to achieve that with Seguerra’s genes.

“Ano siya, summa cum laude. He’s into music, he plays a lot of instruments. He also loves to cook,” Diño further spoke of their donor in an interview with GMA-7’s 24 Oras.

Diño earlier said that they plan on undergoing the process in the middle of 2019. However, they have decided to postpone their plans and undergo IVF on December instead since Diño, who is currently the chair and CEO of the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), will be busy with her work.

The IVF process will be conducted in Malaysia because they are not allowed to have it in the Philippines due to ethical reasons.
