WATCH: Sarah Geronimo thanks OFWs in UAE after Papal Visit performance

Philippine Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo gave a short message to overseas Filipino workers in the UAE who watched her performance during the historic Papal Visit of His Holiness Pope Francis, Head of the Catholic Church, to the country.

It can be recalled that Geronimo performed a couple of songs at Zayed Sports City Stadium after the Papal Mass in Abu Dhabi, February 5.

Donned in stunning AMATO Couture outfits, Geronimo stood in front of 180,000 people and sang various songs including Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion’s “The Prayer”, Miley Cyrus’ “The Climb”, Bamboo’s “Noypi”, Mandy Moore’s “Only Hope”, Andra Day’s “Rise Up”, and her own song “Forever’s Not Enough”. She also did a duet with “The Voice Teens” winner Jona Soquite.

During her performance she told the audience, “In different parts of the world today, it is time to rise up and spread love and peace… To quote the prayer of St. Francis of Assisi: “Where there is hatred, let us sow love. Where is offense, kahit mahirap po, let us forgive. Let us be a part to heal the world.”

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, she then thanked the OFWs who watched her performance.

“Maraming salamat po sa bawat kababayan ko po na nag-stay to watch me perform. Thank you very much. God bless you,” she said.

This isn’t the first time Geronimo performed during a Papal Visit. She was also one of the performers when Pope John Paul II visited the Philippines in 1995.
