WATCH: “X Factor Romania” Filipino winner joins another int’l singing competition

It has only been a month since Bella Santiago became the first ever Filipino singer to win “The X Factor Romania”, and now she is about to show off her singing prowess once again.

Last Sunday, Santiago became one of the six finalists in Selecția Națională, which is a song competition wherein the winner will represent Romania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019.

Eurovision Song Contest 2019 is an international competition in which 42 countries from the European Broadcasting Union would send representatives who will compete for the championship.

Santiago performed her song “Army of Love,” which she composed with Alexandru Luft and was chosen as one of the 2 wildcard songs for the Selecția Națională semi-finals.

“Army of Love is a story about fighting for what you love,” she said.

In 2018, she already joined “Eurovision Romania” with Romanian band Jukebox and finished fourth in the finals. This time around, Santiago returns as a solo act.

“I joined again because last year I was with a band and we did not have a song like what I have now wherein I can dance and do rap in Philippine language,” she said.

Santiago is no stranger to singing competitions. Before she won “The X Factor Romania”, she also joined “Romania’s Got Talent” in 2016.

Before she moved to Romania, she has also competed in a few competitions in the Philippines. When she was younger, she joined GMA-7’s singing competition Pinoy Pop Superstar. Santiago also became a contestant in It’s Showtime’s “Tawag ng Tanghalan” in 2016.
