Karen Gallman has proven that the Philippines is indeed a powerhouse in the world of pageantry after she became the first Filipina Miss Intercontinental winner.

Gallman bested 84 candidates when she took home the Philippines’ first Miss Intercontinental crown during the pageant’s coronation night held on January 26 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

During the beginning of the pageant, Gallman stunned in a red glittery dress when she was announced as one of the Top 20 finalists.

Gallman also definitely made heads turn during the swimwear competition as she strutted down the stage wearing her silver two-piece.

At this part, she was introduced by the host as someone who enjoys travelling, hiking, swimming, playing tennis, and reading.

For the evening gown competition, Gallman wore a silver dress designed by Benj Leguiab which featured a thigh high slit and linear details.

“I will always emphasize that beauty is not only skin deep. For me, beauty shines from within. It is having that kindness, and that spirit, your heart, and being confident in yourself. The power of beauty lies within, and you can use all that beauty inside of you to influence others in making a difference,” she said as she was awarded Miss Asia and Oceania, one of the Continental Queens title.

During the final question and answer round, Gallman was asked to give her personal definition of success, to which she answered: “For me, success is not just about winning in life, but setting goals, smaller goals, and achieving your dreams and working hard for everything you want and always looking up to God and being thankful for everything. For me, that is success.”
