The coronation night of the 47th Miss Intercontinental has not yet taken place but the Philippines’ representative Karen Gallman has already won a total of $2,000 or around P104,000 during the pageant’s preliminary events.
The pre-pageant event of the 47th Miss Intercontinental took place on January 16 at Okada Manila wherein Gallman received one of the special awards.
The 26-year-old financial analyst won the Fiber Health Body Beautiful Awards which came with a cash prize worth $1,000.
Last week, Gallman also received another special award during the pageant’s media presentation held at Sofitel Philippine Plaza on January 10.
Gallman was awarded with the H&H Stand Out Beauty Award which also came with another $1,000, doubling her cash prizes.
Aside from Gallman, Miss Paraguay Gabriela Natasha Soley Saw Kiw was awarded Best in Swimsuit, while Filipino designer Chico Estiva was hailed as the Best Evening Gown Designer. Estiva’s creation was worn by Miss Belarus Karalina Charnadei.
The pageant’s Evening Gown Competition and Filipiniana Fashion Show will happen on January 17, while the National Costume Competition will be on the 19th.
The coronation night of the 47th Miss Intercontinental will take place on January 26 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
Gallman is hoping to win the Philippines’ first Miss Intercontinental crown. Last year, Katarina Rodriguez came close to winning the crown when she finished as first runner-up.
