Alden Richards now owns a McDonald’s franchise in Laguna

Kapuso actor Alden Richards surely knows how to spend his hard-earned money from his showbiz career.

Richards, who has been dubbed as the Pambansang Bae, gifted himself with a new business venture on his 27th birthday by opening a franchise of the famous fast food McDonald’s in Biñan, Laguna.

In an interview with PEP.ph, he shared that his McDonald’s branch will open on Easter Sunday, April 21.

“We’re eyeing an Easter Sunday opening. Sa may Olivarez, katabi po kami ng Perpetual, along the national highway,” Richards was quoted as saying.

He also said that he is planning on opening another branch at Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

His younger sister is the one who will take care and manage his McDonald’s franchise. However, since he is still considered as the owner and operator, he still attended the orientation in opening the said fast food franchise.

Richards said that it has been his family’s dream to open up a business like this one and he is still in disbelief that they are now able to do it.

“Pangarap lang po yan namin ng pamilya ko dati, kasi may isa kaming kinakainan sa isang supermarket before. Akala ko po kasi noon, yung McDonald’s, walang franchisee.

“Kumbaga, galing siya sa company pero sabi ko, sana one day, magka-restaurant kami na McDo kasi we’re really avid fans of the restaurant. So, we’re very happy, hindi po ako makapaniwala.

“Nang makita ko na on-going na yung construction, nung makita ko yung takip dun sa pinaka-construction site na ‘McDonald’s soon to open,’ doon lang nag-sink in na talagang magkaka-restaurant na po kami,” he said.

According to Pinoy Money Talk, the franchise fee of putting up a McDonald’s branch in the Philippines ranges from P30 million to P50 million, depending on the store location and store layout. Aside from that, McDonald’s also requires their franchises to be built in locations or lands owned by the franchisee.

Aside from his McDonald’s franchise, Richards has other businesses which include branches of Concha’s Garden Café in Tagaytay City and Quezon City.
