The Queen has arrived in the Big Apple and ready to take on the universe.

Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray took to her Instagram on January 5 to share her first selfie taken at the headquarters of the Miss Universe Organization in New York.

“Dropped by the Miss Universe headquarters today. Super jet lagged but giant cups of tea and coffee are getting me through,” she captioned the photo.

Moreover, Gray made sure to bring her Filipino culture-inspired ensembles to the chic and fashionable city of new York by donning a nude-colored top with a denim skirt hand-embellished with mother-of-pearl by the Tagakaolo tribe.

According to the National Commission of Culture and the Arts, the Tagakaolo is a subgroup of the Kalagan which belongs to the Mandaya/Mansaka group. The Tagakaolo tribe are mostly found in the places between the coast and the B’laan country in the province of Davao, as well as the tributaries of Malita and Lais, and Talaguton rivers.

Last week, Gray shared on social media that she was on her way to New York to officially start her reign.

Just like past Miss Universe winners, Gray will be staying at a luxury accommodation in a New York City apartment together with Miss USA 2018 Sarah Rose Summers and Miss Teen USA 2018 Hailey Colborn.
